Show A SLAP IN THE FACE. Disgraceful Scenes In the French Chamber of Deputies. Paris, Jan. 80. The chamber of deputies was the scene of unusual excitement yesterday. yester-day. At the opening ot the sitting President Floquet announced that he had received an intimation from Boulangist Member Laur that he desired to ask lie Freycinet what steps the government would take regarding tho Intransigoauts' attack upon certain numbers of the cabinet. De Freycinet said it was clear that the object of the question was to have newspaper articles read from the tribune reflecting upon the Government and he therefore declined to discuss the matter. Several members spoke in favor of the previous question Others opposed the shelving of the matter, reminding the house that the president had recently decided de-cided that every member had the right to bo heard on a question not relating to the foreign policy of the govhrnment, and maintaining main-taining that the house ought not to vote the previous question when there was such a case of sheltering a member of the cabinet.
