It shall be unlawful for any person to drive any wagon or other vehicle across any public w ater ditch or canal within the corporate limits of said salt Lake City other than at a regular reg-ular crossing, or place any pole, board or any otle r obstruction whatever, in any such public ditch or canal for any purpose, or in any way in terfere with the free ana unobstructed t'tow of water in such ditch or canal. Sec. 3. Any person desiring to drive arrows any public water ditch or canal at any place other than at a public crossing, shall, before doing so, ptai e over said ditch or canal a good ar.d substantial substan-tial bridge. Or in said ditch or canal a (rood and sui stantial covered lluine, as the city Water! Muster may direct and decide, sufficiently high, and of sufficient capacity, so as not to interfere with, or prevent the freri and rnt abstracted fiov.- i ot water in said ditch or canal, said fridge or I rlnme to be constructed under the direction of the I Wat-r Master of said city.
