Show BOARDOF EDUCATION Dr. 3Iillspane,h Re-elected as Superintendent Super-intendent of the Public Schools. THE TWENTIETH SCHOOL HOUSE. The Contract for Its Erection Awarded to Ooxford Bros. & Bryan Applications for Positions Appropriations Made. The regular monthly meeting of the board of education was held last evening, vice-President vice-President Nelson presiding. The trustees whoj answered to the roll call were AlfF, Youug, Pike, Kaybould, Dooly and Baldwin. The committee on sites and buildings reported re-ported the following bids for the construction construc-tion of the Hamilton school or the First Ward had been received: Coxford Bros. & Brvan $31,550 00 Tenth Ward L. a B. Co MM 50 T. K. Llovd 35,000 00 W. L. N. Allen jl 37,750 00 Wm. Lester , 38,200 00 Joseph Dedricks 40,000 03 The committee recommended that the contract for the work be awarded to Coxford Cox-ford Bros. A: Bryan, the lowest bidders, who agreed to finish the building by October 1st, 1892. The report was adopted and the committee commit-tee authorized to execute the contract. On motion of Trustee Young the Twentieth Twen-tieth school was christened the Lowell school. Hogle Bros, offered to sell the board the east half of a lot at the corner of Eleventh East and Third South street for $9000 cash. Referred to the committee on sites and buildings. The committee on sites and buildings recommended the purchase of a piece of ground adjoining the Eleventh school for 14800. Adopted. Thirty applicants from persons in various parts of the country for positions as teachers teach-ers were referred to the committee on teachers. An increase of $5 a month in the salary Of the assistant clerk was ordered. Clerk Moreton was directed to request Alice Hooper to at once give the board possession pos-session of the site recently purchased. The committee on sites and buildings reported re-ported that the contract for the construction of the Twentieth BChool building had been made with the Salt Lake Building fc Manufacturing Manu-facturing company; also that a contract for the erection of the addition to the Bryant school had been executed with William H. Jay. Adopted. r. Millspaugh was unanimously reelected re-elected superintendent of schools. The following appropriations were made: William Roberts, rent H. T.
