Show VN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE OB-strucfion OB-strucfion of water ditches Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City as follows: Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive any wagon or other vehicle across any : public water ditch or canal within the corporate i limits of said Salt Lake City other than at a regular reg-ular crossing, or place any pole, board or any j other obstruction whatever, in any such public i ditch or canal for any purpose, or in any way in- terfero with the iree and unobstructed liow of : water in such ditch or canal. Sec. '-. Any person desiring to drive across any i public water ditch or canal at any place other I than at a public crossing, shall, before doing so, place over said ditch or canal a good and subs'ian-j subs'ian-j tial bridge, or in said ditch or canal a good and substantial covered flume, as the city Water Master may direct and decide, sufficiently high, i and of sufficient capacity, so as not to interfere I with, or prevent the free and unobstructed flow j of wab r in said ditch or canal, said bridge or i Hume to be constructed under the direction of the Water Master of said city. Sec. 3. Any person or persons violating any of j the provisions of this ordinance shall be, pun- ished by a flue in any sum not less than five nor more than twenty five dollars.
