(KiiiKN, July A good sized audience audi-ence assembled at the Fourth ward amusement hall Ia3t evening to boar John Henry Smith and John Morgan di.scu.s republican doctrine. Mr. Morgan Mor-gan was the tirst speaker and after informing his hearers that he had been a republican from his youth up, showed up the history of the country from the days of the first presidents. John Henry Smith delivered a fine argumentative address devoid of bombast bom-bast and noise no characteristic of democratic dem-ocratic stump orators. One person in the audience rumark-d that those speaker did not yell and paw tho air like the democrats, lie could see the reason, however, because the latter could produce no argument and were compelled to howl and liil up time iu tolliug little funny anecdotes to attract any attention from the audience.
