The republican county eonveutua met at lbs opera house yesterday. There was a large delegation from Springv iih', Mapleton ami other places. F, II. Simmons was elected as chairman and H. S. Pyne ai secretary. The following nominations were made; Selectman from tho North end of tho couuty, Olo Ellingsou. of Lehi; Selectman from the south end of the couulo, Jos. K. Vi ilkius of Spanish Fork; Couuty Superintendent of Schools, Prof. Benj. Chill' of l'rovo; Coroner, II. S. Pyne of l'rovo. The district convention of the republican repub-lican of the Eleventh District was hold yesterday afternoon. 1. C. Johnson was elected chairman, II. S. Pyne secretary. sec-retary. Committee on Credentials, Messrs. Booth, Packard, Baekman, Ilnl!.ro )k and L. J. Whitney. On permanent per-manent organization, Messrs. Graham. Whilecottoo, Thorne, lloldaway and li L. Mendeuhall. While the different committees were out preparing their reports Dr. l H. Simiuons made a very strong republican repub-lican speech. After the committees had reported, nominations wefo iu order. Mr. li. B.chmau nominated it rp-j rp-j reseutative from the eioveu'.h district. Mr. George Sutherland and Mayor Booth seconded the nomination, which carried. On motion of Or.
