A horrible railroad accident Occurred at Aspen Junction, eighteen miles west of Aspen, ou the Midland road at 11 o'clock Saturday Sat-urday night. A special train of baggage car and one passenger coach was returning to Aspen from Clenwood Springs. The passenger coach contained about thirty passengers, mostly Aspen people. The train was backing from tho water tank to switch on to the Aspen track when a road engine was run out of tho round house and tho rear of the passenger pas-senger train hit tho check valve on tho shle of the boiler which exhausted hot steam into the broken end of the passe pas-se iger car, scalding thirteen passengers, passen-gers, live men, seven women and one child. The car was thrown from the track. The passengers arrived at Aspen in a baggage car at 1:110 yesterday morning. All that was possible was done to relieve re-lieve the sufferings of the unfortunate passengers. Those who hare died are: Mil. AND MliS. A. II. Kookbs, of Woody. Colo. Miss Annie PnEi.AJf, of Cardiff; age 17 years. Mtts. N. L. Wim.oht, of Olonwood, Colo. Mim. John (I. Baldwin, of Glen-wood, Glen-wood, Colo., and Mits. Fkank Ki.lis. of Aspen, Co'o. The wounded who still live with hopes that they will recover are Frank Ellis, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leonard and sister, Mary Ann O'Donuell aud Frank Leach. Asl'KN', Colo., July 11 (Associated Press. Frank Ellis, the eighth victim of the Midland disaster at Apen Junction, Junc-tion, died this morning. Leonard and wife cannot live and Thomas and Mary O'l'.onnell are now considered at the point of death. It is reported that nono of the iniure.d can survive. A party of Midland oll'.cials has just reached here from the scene of the accident. ac-cident.
