A little boy named Johnny Luton was tho victim, lie was caught under the elephants feet and crushed out of all semblance to humani-ty. Tim keeper of the elephant stuck a pitchfork in the animal's trunk and was thrown high in the air by the enraged animal, but not seriously hurt. Lath: The cyclone passed over the lower portion of Ihe town unroofing houses, tei.i ing up immense trees and carrying pieces of the wreck through the air for many blocks. The boulevard is littered with trees that were torn up by the wind and pige.es of house tops and other timbers. The penitentiary walls were blown down and ten persons killed and thirty wounded. The fac-tory building wns demolished and the hospital and penitentiary are a mass of ruit.s. The steamship Smoky City was blown 'o pieces, there being nothing left but the hull.
