The audience was composed of about six democrats and the democratic band, the balance consisting of a few republicans, mugwumps and others. W. H. King made the speech of the evening. ev-ening. It is the intention of the democrats demo-crats to hold meetings in every ward during the week, and, if possible, to orgauize clubs. . Tita -county court of LTah county convened con-vened at 10 o'clock yesterday morning. .Ninety-one citizens of Sautaquin presented pre-sented a petition for tho incorporation of their town. Ueforred to county attorney. Coroner J. H. Twelves reported ton inquests held duriug the past quarter. James E. Haii, assessor of L'tan county, coun-ty, submitted the assessment of L'lah couuty for the year 1S!M, showing the taxable property of the county to be $io.;r)i.iiu7. July 1st at 10 o'clock was set as the time tor hearing complaints iu assessments assess-ments and petitions fur remittance and abatement for taxes. The assessor's compensation was fixed at $1300. 'The compensation of the county collector col-lector was fixed at 3100. The rate of taxation was fixed at two mills on tho dollar. Two mills was also al-so fixed as tho rate of couuty school tax. Quite a number of prominent repub-publicans repub-publicans went over to Spanish Fork to attend tho rally. It is expected that a great many republican converts will be made iu that burg. |
