Fntatoes and fishes are vry (ruocl dishes For St. Patrick's (lay in the. morning. - St. Patrick's day with its fund of pretty legends, its comfortable legends, its Bhamrocks and evergreens, has rolled around once more and will be ushered in amid chimes of church bells tomniorrow morning. Preparations for its fitting observance have been in progress pro-gress for several days past, while the tax on the ribbon counters bears ample evidence of the patriotism that dwells among tho representatives of the nationality na-tionality in Zion. Among the clergy there has been much active preparation, prepara-tion, tho climax of the beautiful festival festi-val that characterizes tho day to be reached at St. Mary's cathedral when the Right Reverend llishop Scallon will deliver an address that will be accompanied by ap-appropriate ap-appropriate music and other impressive impres-sive features. There will be no parade such as will take place in many of the large cities but the absence of the imposing im-posing column will be amply compensated compen-sated for by the other exorcises. It will indeed be a day for Hibernians and their friends on this side of the water who sympathize with their struggle for emancipation and independence. And of those who have watched this struggle ngaiust the oppression of tho arch-tyrant of all tyrants not a few reside in Salt Lako, so that those of every nationality na-tionality will take part in the observance observ-ance tomorrow. |
