McPherson says I'alinor wrote an item for a newspaper accusing him of rob-bin;? rob-bin;? a squaw, stealing chickens, breaking break-ing jail, and saying that his father was lynched, ail of which was falso. Palmer said he was a secret detective, j and that the statements made by McPherson Mc-Pherson were false, when McPherson aimed at Palmer. "For God's cake don't shoot, McPherson, Mc-Pherson, don't shoot me,'' exclaimed Palmer. McPherson shot twice and struck Palmer over the head with the pistol before he full, and then started to run, but a few moments later surrendered himself and was placed in jail. Palmer is in a very critical condition. McPherson is very talkative, though his story is disconnected. Palmer insists that ho will get well. |
