Show ' NEVADA NOTES. John Whie sent from Lander county in 1878, for life for murder, was pardoned, par-doned, it being shown that he was dying dy-ing from consumption. Austin Advocate:- Joseph Mawer sold his interest ia S lease in the Union mine last week to Thomas Shields for $480, and being in debt to quite a number, num-ber, arranged to jump the country and defraud his creditors. Inyo Independent: Mining business in the country is not very lively at present but this ia usual every winter. The Nowton mine at Cerro Gordo is turning out a good deal of ore; prospecting pros-pecting goes on in the Union but no rich strikes are yet reported. Very little ia doing in the Darwin district: Mr. McKen.ie has a' small force at work in the Lucky Jim but is not taking tak-ing out much ore. Shipments continue to be made from the Detiance and about lifleen men are working ihere. Kegn- lar shipments are made from Modoc, most of the ore at present being taken from the dumps. Mr. Fitzgerald has about a do.eu men at voik in the miae. It is reported that Mr. J. J. Gunn has recently struck a good prospect in the Minnietta. Pat Kev is doing tirst rate at the White Hill and has two car loads of fine ore ready for shipment. |
