Ezra Shomaker, th mayor elect gave a grand supper at his residence Friday evening. The bar, was given the Citizens' candidate for mayor, Hon. F. R. Kenner. A large crowd of friends assombled and parti ' cipatedin the festivities. Friendship and good humor prevailed. One huii dred mormons bottled the ticket; jas n Monday. At the next election the num ",""-vi ber will probably be doubled. Th party was kept up all right. " t The residence of G. E. Snow was th scene of a gay wedding reception Fri-(lay Fri-(lay night. Angus M. Lambert of Salt Lake came to Manti and captured the heait of Miss Edna, Mr. Snow's eldest daughter. They were married in the temple. Many young people attended the reception aud carried with them useful and costly presents. The couple will make their home in Salt Lake. Manti is passing through a genuine bread famine. The mills are all frozen up solid. Flour is a scarce article. Men having a few hundred pounds are besieged be-sieged almost hourly by friends want ing to borrow enough to last until the cold spell is over. On election day the thermometer registered 21 degrees be low zero. The weather is moderating |
