U. of Iowa began today in Wesley church and w ill continue for one week. . Mrs. J. Ellen Foster, in her address as president of the union, sought to prove that individual moderate moder-ate indulgence was a failure as a remedy rem-edy for intemperance, and that total abstinence was now accepted by all temperance workers as the only safe policy. She claimed that the V. C T. U. of" Iowa had always been non-partisan and asserted that the prohibitionists formed a distinctively third political party. The address, which was a brilliant bril-liant effort, was- enthusiastically received re-ceived by the delegates.
