Show A Clergyman's Extraordinary Death. The Rev. A; J. Johnson,' vicar' of Tof-trees, Tof-trees, near Fakenham, Norfolk, died a few weeks ago in the Norfolk and Norwich Nor-wich hospital under extraordinary circumstances. cir-cumstances. In the middle of the past winter the reverend gentleman wandered away from home, his mind being supposed sup-posed to have been to some extent affected af-fected at the time by the pressure of pecuniary troubles, and ten days after he was found in a shrubbery at Bramer-ton, Bramer-ton, near Norwich. When discovered he was badly frostbitten and almost unconscious, un-conscious, and it appeared that not only had he been exposed to severe weather for ten days, but that he had also been starving during that period. While he was lying at Bramerton he seems to have boen partially covered by a heavy fall of snow. He was removed to the Norfolk and Norwich hospital, but after a time one of his feet dropped off and a portion of the other had to be removed, the rest being amputated a few days since. The reverend gentleman gentle-man gradually sank and then expired. New York Times. |
