Show A NEW OPERA HOUSE, It is hoped that the Walkers will at onco decide to rebuild the (irand opera house. If, as it is' claimed, tho walls are perfectly safe, it cau be rebuilt upon a much improved plan inside of ninety days. Salt Lake cannot afford to be without a first class theater, and if it is determined not to rebuild tho Grand opera house, other parties will undoubtedly erect a largo and elegant theater that .will in every way bo a credit to tho city. Wo understand that there is already on foot a movement with this object in view. Tho parties interested in it are men of ample means. They are simply wailing to learn what the owners of the Grand opera house propose to do. We have reason to believe, be-lieve, however, thai the Grand will bo rebuilt. It was o;i a. paying basis, owing to the excellent management of Mr. Burgess, who had devoted a year to building up tho business. Undor his direction it had becomo a popular place of amusement, and next season it would have been more popular than ever, owing to the fact that 'the very best attractions at-tractions had been booked. |
