N. y., st.pt. 8.- -A terri- ble crime was committed nt Ranson-ville- , sixteen miles northeast of here yesterday. A boy named Charles Grambo, aged 14, sou of Frederick Grambo, a farmer, murdered his adopted sister, Rose Grambo. aged 0 years. There were no eye witnesses to the crime, as the children were left alono at home while the parents went away. Young Grambo. it is said, had an empty shotgun which he brought out into the yard where the little girl was playing. He loaded .it with sand and gravel and daeing the muzzle close to Rose's head, tired. The young villain then hitched up a horse placed the body of the dying young gui in the wagon, threw a blanket over her and started to Dr. Lang's house. The doctor tried to probe for the pebbles, but found they had penetrated the brain, anil there was no hopo for tho child's me. The boy told contradictory sto-nes, but held that tho shooting was purely accidental. He is known as being wild and headstrong. The girl was his adopted sister, having been taken from the home for juveniles in this city. A month ago the Grambos became very much attached to the little girl, and the theory is that the boy shot her in jealous rage. 61 0 TALES0F WOE.
