Big Deposit of Cement at Castle Valley A Letter Prom a Glass Man In-, In-, quiries About Brick Plants. Little business was transacted at the cull meeting of the real estate exchange this morning. The attendance was, however, good. . Several gilt-edged mortgages were offered but found no takers. Some big deals are on foot and tho members of tho exchange all appear in excellent good humor. A 1140,000 Deal. Miller & Miller this morning practically practi-cally closed a $40,000 deal. A Boston syndicate had an agent here who was instructed to invest either in Denver, Pueblo or Salt Lake. He was at Denver Den-ver but found nothing there. He was, however, satisfied with a business block in this city and this morning accepted it and left for tho east to complete the arrangements for the transfer of the properly. Samples of Cement. Mr. James Makin yesterday morning left some samples of cement from Castle Valley at the Heal Estate Exchange. Tho samples present an excellence appearance ap-pearance and Mr. Makin is trying to get capitalists interested in the development develop-ment of the deposits. Mr. Makin says that he has wholo mountains of it at Castlo Valley. From a Brick Manufacturer. Secretary (Jillcspio of the chamber of commerce, has received a letter from a brick company in Seattle asking what Inducements would be offered for tho establishment of a steam brick plant in Salt Lake. The letter also asked information infor-mation about tho character of the clay hero, whether it was yellow and loamy or of a soapstone nature and bluish; how many brickyards in the city and the character of their product; their combined capacity, aud the price of wood and coal. From a Glass Man.
