'- - The call meeting of the real estate exchange brought several members together to-gether in the old quarters this morning. They chatted cheerily of the Deep Creek road and predicted an advance in realty when work on the new line had even begun. Then too a number of members are interested in another new railroad, ' that running from Salt Lake to Idaho. This line is as yet on paper, but the men at the helm are confident of success and thus hope to tap a great timber belt and mining region in Idaho. This matter of laying so many railroads is a healthy sign and as may be supposed Utah, and especially espec-ially Salt Lake, will naturally realize much benefit from such enterprises. The activity in railroad schemes is attracting at-tracting general attention among eastern east-ern capitalists who are daily surprised - with the quickness with which such projects bob to the surface. That this is a great country is conceded by all who are in a position to judge correctly and the railway .bonds of this country do not have to beg for a buyer. The exchange is full of prospective deals and within the next fortnight the market will take on a new dress which will be a general surprise to the alert public. Some Toagh Plowing. ' About the toughest piece of plowing teen for some time was witnessed - on Commercial street this afternoon. Four head of mules pulled a big plow which furrowed the highway preparstory to the laying of asphalt. The work was very tough and the mules tugged with all strength but got there all the same. Two men guided the splitter, ono man Btood on the doubletree clutching the tails of two mules, another follow drove the four-in-hand and other interested people followed the procession. , A Contract Let. The work on the new Harrison building build-ing on the State road has been let. T. H. Oliver will do the masonry, and J. M. Black will attend to the balance.of the work., Tho building will cost about $29,000 and the plans were prepared by Architect Costensan. " Real Estate Notes. J. R.
