The rear frame portion of the building build-ing on West Second South street, recently re-cently occupied by Barnes & Company, was burned at about 2:30 o'clock this afteruoon. Tho lire department responded re-sponded and after a tough light extinguished extin-guished the flames. George Snell had rented the place aud was fitting it up as a butcher shop. Kclsev & Gillespie rent it. A defective Hue is supposed to be the cause of the tire.
