Berlin, Nov. 28. Thanksgiving day was celebrated here yesterday by 400 Americans, who attended a banquet given at Kaiserhof. Chapman ColeJ man, secretary of the American legation and charge d'afTairs during tho visit of Minister Phelps to the United States gave a toast to Emperor William, who, he said, hud adhered to the avowal made at the time of his accession to tho throne, that he regarded himself as the first servant of state. Coleman also gave 11 toast lo President Harrison, which was responded to by Rev. Mr. Showood, of New York. |
