Wall Street, Nov. 28. The stock market this morning was again unusually unusu-ally active. While displaying some w eakness in the early trading it lifted suddenly and rapidly afterward and very large advances were made in many leading stocks. The opening figures showed irregular changes from thoso of Wednesday afternoon, though the only important change was a drop of 2i per cent iu sugar refineries, followed fol-lowed by fractional losses in all tho list (luring the first few minutes trading, which reached three-fourths per cent in Northern Pacific preferred. The general gen-eral list, however, developed unnatural strength and sugar was lifted rapidly from 02 to 58J, and in . tho general list Burlington rose 3; Union Pacific 3; Rock Island 2J; St. Paul and Northern Pacific preferred pre-ferred lj each; tho others generally fractional amounts. The advance, being be-ing so sudden, came to an end equally sudden, and the top prices wore not maintained, Union Pacific going back 1 and sugar refinery about as much. The market, which developed great activity during the rise, became quiet Bgain, and, at 11 o'clock, was quiet and barely steady, as to figures, but with- out displaying any undertone. Slocks rallied again and all again moved upward and while many reached still higher prices than during" the first hour, the advances were in no ease more than a fraction.
