Special.J Henry Irviug, tho tragedian, will be the Glad-stonian Glad-stonian candidate for parliament in the first vacancy that occurs in the representation repre-sentation of a . liberal constituency. Irviug has never taken an active part in political affairs and hence his opinions opin-ions on the questions at issue were not publicly known, aud consequently many surmised that on account of his well-known affiliations that if he should minglcjn political life it would all be in the tciry interest.
