Show 1 Junior C. of C. Elects Officers For 1938-39 i Group Leading Drive To Obtain Tooele Highway De-Lbert Barrett and Willaid Nichols will lead the local junior chamber of commerce as president presi-dent and chairman of the board of directors, respectively, until June 1939, It was determined at a meeting of the chumber Monday evening at the Italian-Flench Italian-Flench cafe. They succeed Elliott El-liott W. Evans and W. L. Faddis in these posts. Mr. Evans and Mr. Faddis were nominated for reelection but withdrew. Other officers named at the meeting were Leland Burresa, vice president; Jess Southwell, reelected secretary; C. C. Col-yar, Col-yar, treasurer; Harvey Wolfe, Harold Barton, members of the board of directors, who will serve with Winn Raby, Willis Sperry and George Knudsen, holdover YJ 'A V ' " Delbert V. Earl James stated that much money was spent on the Big Cottonwood Cot-tonwood canyon road last year for ski fans at Alta. John Dahlstrom outlined what had been, done to date to get the highway between Tooele and Bingham and suggested a course of action for the chamber to take. Named on a committee to write resolutions to forward the state road commission, Governor Henry Hen-ry H. Stillman was named manager of the chamber softball team. Necessary expenses of the team were approved for pay-' pay-' ment. Delbert Barrett, Runar Martinson, Martin-son, Dan Tomlinson and John Adamek reported on the regional region-al convention held In Boise last month. A Homecoming celebration and a Bingham-Copperfield tunnel dedication day Is being studied by the chamber. At a meeting oT the board of directors Wednesday evening the following were named on the entertainment committee for the coming year; Runar, Martinson, James West and Dee Johanson. The next directors meeting will be held May 31. At this time a committee to have charge of the Bingham Homecoming celebration will be announced. |
