Show THE INDIAN PEAK the wonderful activity in in mining of late has resulted in the organization of numerous mining companies on properties of acknowledged 1 merit one of the latest of these being the incorporation of the indian peak mining company on a group of six claims in beaver county one mile east of the blue jay mine one of the early producers of the southern country the new company has a capitalization of shares of a par value of 1 cent a share the official roster of the association beino being as follows H R long president and manager S T phoenix diee president 0 H stevenson secretary and treasurer louis long and charlotte stevenson considerable preliminary work has already been done in the exploration of the indian peak group there being at least feet of shafts and tunnels in evidence as to the amount of time and money spent in showing up the formation and preparatory to the incorporation of the company so that all is evidently smooth sailing and the outlook for the property all that could be desired all that is needed being more extensive develop development nent before the prospect is transformed into a productive proposition from mr long who is just in from the property it is learned that the working shaft has now reached a depth of thirty three feet the pay streak in the bottom being from twenty eight to thirty inches in width and carrying metallic values of per cent copper ounces silver and in gold to the ton and of this class of material a carload shipment will be made ready for the market as soon as the road from the mine to the main thoroughfare is completed work in its construction having already been begun in the building of which the company has been joined by the blue jay people and as the branch will be only about a mile in length it cannot be long before both properties will be easily accessible the formation at the indian peak according to mr long is a strong contact between lime and porphyry the ledge being tr tra cable heable on the surface for a thousand feet or more one pleasing feature of the enterprise being that in addition to the encouraging showing of shipping ore in the mine there is also considerable second class ore exposed that can be handled at a profit by concentration as it assays essays from 3 to 8 per cent copper 11 ounces silver and from 60 cents to 3 in gold to the ton the ultimate intention being to embellish the property with a mill the conditions being favorable to such a project as the holdings of the association embrace two springs which furnish the water supply of the district besides which portions of the group are heavily timbered with cedar and pine A force of four men is steadily employed in the operation and development of the mine and the coming spring will doubtless see this ground added to cornucopia of producing and paying mines |
