Show THE MIDNIGHT DRIVE adventures of two utah boys in the wilds of british columbia dark was the night and long the drive tempestuous was the weather when up the canyon drove the boys left salt lake together and one of these from mercur haunts haunt was primed with lore on milling the other one had mills to to sell to people who were willing the steeds were jaded when they came to cascade city still and dreary no cheerful lights them welcome gave these travelers so worn and weary to tend their team no waiting man was ready at the stable they were compelled to put them up the best that they were able and then with grips and overcoats they sought an inn quite gladly A bath a bed a place to rest they needed sleep most sadly alas alas in frontier town where could be had such luxury A bed at last indeed was found the bath it was a mystery the bed they found was occupied the boys were seared scared quite badly A hundred sleepers were aroused by D C jack and bradley discarded clothes clothes were hurried 0 on the sought for rest was fleeting though tired with their long night drive they looked not for this greeting and so they coursed the dreary streets their tempers greatly losing but early morn found them in bed asleep and gently sn oozing the recent contract between the centen nial eureka company and the american smelting smelling Sm elting company has since been one of the chief topics of discussion in utah mining circles on account of its magnitude as it is understood that the former company has agreed to furnish the smelters shelters sm elters controlled by the latter concern ore to the value of about four million dollars 2000 tons of ore monthly at least to be furnished by the mine during the life of the contract which is for a period of three years the centennial eureka reserving the right to output tons within two years if desired and thereby terminating the contract cn tract |
