Show THE CAMP OF GOOD SPRINGS staff correspondence good gond springs nev feb 9 at no time in the history of the good springs mining district have the owners of properties in this promising mining camp been so greatly encouraged as at present practically all of the mines are showing up splendidly and with the prospects of the smelter soon to be erected at good springs it is but fair to predict that the year 1906 will be by far the greatest in the history of this comparatively new camp there are now more than one hundred men working in the mines and prospects in the district and every man in the camp who is able to do a days work is employed at good wages surely great things are in store for good springs below will be found a short description of the leading properties in the district starting from the north will first be found the property of the yellow pine mining company known as the porphyry gulch group they have a shaft down one hundred feet all the way in ore showing silver lead and zinc average samples of six feet of ore show twenty five per cent lead 22 per cent zinc 96 ounces silver and gold money has been raised for the building of the concentrators gators and much is expected from this promising property J F kent is the superintendent the dinty nine group has a good showing for a big mine it has produced tons of 33 per cent copper ore and is being intelligently developed C M over good springs is the owner and superintendent the double group eight miles northwest of good springs is being developed by tunnels drifts and shafts all showing ore mostly copper the owners are james kennelly and john mcclanahan McClan ahn las vegas nev E U W johnson good springs owns a fine group five miles northwest of town that has been worked by tunnel and shaft and which shows four feet of good ore the copper king group of six claims and has a nice showing of copper lead and silver ore some very rich copper ore has been shipped that runs 35 percent the shaft is down a hundred feet this is a very promising property and is owned by richard feaster crescent N nev ev the red cloud group is owned by charles byram of good goo d springs the shaft is now down feet and is equipped with hoist and a fifty ton aya power 12 horse the ore bodies run from five nide de plant to n twenty fl five ive feet 1 in n width and show good values lues in gold this is cons considered ono one of properties in the district the best the rover group of five claims has a shaft of sixty feet sunk on the foot wall and another of one hundred feet on the hang ingwall ing wall rich copper gold silver and zinc values are found immediately south of the rover is another fine group owned by henry robbins of gunnison utah who is now at good springs working his property the ore showing is practically the same as the rover the columbia consists of five claims which is being developed by tunnel shaft drift and levels five hundred feet of work has been done showing large bodies of copper in all the workings the veins running from two to twenty five feet in width five hundred tons of copper ore is now on the dump that will average 15 per cent harvey hardy jr is the mine superintendent the hoosier consists of four claims operated by co of salt lake city they have two hundred tons of ore on the dump taken from the foot workings the values are in lead and silver the chiquita owned largely by harry joseph joe R W nichol and jacob moritz of salt lake is a very promising gold property some sensational ore has been uncovered in this mine the mobile group has a tunnel in fifty feet and is now showing a full breast of at least five feet of clean carbonate lead ore this property is located seven and a half miles west of good springs |
