| Show COKING COAL IN WYOMING cheyenne tribune the discovery of coking coal in the western part of the state is one of the most important to the industrial development of wyoming which has been made for many years at present the only coking coal in wyoming is found at cambria where it is mined in large quantities the recent discovery near keville cokeville Co uinta county is the second place in the state where coking coal in commercial quantities has been found its importance in the state cannot be appreciated except by those familiar with the uses and demands for coke in the west samples of the coal were sent to T T tynan who sent several hundred pounds to the ovens at cambria the result was most gratifying the coal making the best quality of commercial coke A great advantage of the new coal is that it will coke without being crushed which is not always the case samples of run of mine coal sent to cambria coked caked as well as the powdered coal which will save the expense of crushing keville cokeville Co was named from coking CO coal d which was discovered there some years ago but the veins were small and the discovery of no importance the coal tested by mr tynan came fro from a vein six feet thick and of uniform quality there are five veins on the property au all of which will coke A number of tests tes li have ve been made so that the owners of the me mines are satisfied as to the quality wal the quaintly seems unlimited A company is being organized to develop cevelo the property and build coke ovens in lal manner a new industry will be established which will add materially to the population latiOl and wealth of that section and stimulate the development of other coal mines |
