Show GUARDS WITH THE ORE general manager L W felt of the model gold mining company and superintendent C G schreiber of the model mine owned by this company were in prescott yesterday and had some specimens of fine gold ore in fact the specimens were of such richness as one seldom sees the journal miner made mention a few weeks ago of rich ore having been struck in the model mine but at that time the management of the property paid little heed I 1 to it as it is not an uncommon thing to find rich ilich pockets of gold ore in the mines of this section and the model has already furnished such but after working for some time and a few days since striking richer ore at a dis stance of several feet from the original discovery e the strike presented itself to their minds in a different light and they commenced work with a view of determining the ore body for such it seems to be rather than a little pock pocket et while no assay had been made of the specimens in their possession the rok rock fairly glistened with gold and at a conservative estimate its value could oe de placed at al from to per ton the streak containing these values ls is from two to three inches wide but this streak is found in an ore body of very rich ore which isi is three feet wide when felt and schreiber left the mine they had taken out eleven sacks of the ore and an armed guard had been placed over over the ore day and night to prevent any of the precious yellow metal being stolen the indications are from the work done that this streak of ore extends for a distance of several feet and it will be thoroughly explored with the view of determining its size mr felt says say s that the work of timber re ing the shaft of the mccabe mine which is also owned by the same company is approaching pro aching completion and that shortly three shifts will be at work again in that property it will be remembered that the wood work of the shaft was partially destroyed by fire about a month ago journal miner almin prescott arizona |
