a 27 foot layer of sandy shale carrying a rich saturation of high grade oil at the foot level according to the telegraphic reports received by mr kimball other officers and directors of the company several months boston massinger mass interests have become interested in the big gas well of the utah oil refining company on the cisco structure in this county and a deal is now pending for its sale says the moab times it is the intention of the boston people to use the gas in the manufacture of carbon black a coloring which will mean the erection of a factory and the inauguration of a new and nd important industry in this county the cisco well came in in about a year ago with a flow of gas estimated at cubic feet so great was the pressure that further drilling in the well was impossible and a second well was drilled lower on the structure but the sand proved to be barren of of oil the lower cretaceous formation was tested in this structure no definite information has been given out t regarding the prospects of new pipe line by the beneficial oil company from the labarge district in southwestern south western wyoming to kemmerer says the casper oil index it is understood that the beneficial company has made inquiries from a number of supply houses asking for quotations on 4 6 and 8 in pipe from the labarge field to rail head it is understood that the company has succeeded in raising finances to lay the line and also continue further development work in the field it is thought that a contract will be closed close d for pipe and the laying of the line early in the new year the total tota I 1 length of the line will be about 45 to 55 miles depending upon where it strikes the railroad As the old year is drawing to a close it aou would id appear that another light oil field is to be added to the producing pro ducillo fields in wyoming says the casper oil index the credit creal of discovery belongs to a comparatively new entrant in ill the rocky mountain region the marland oil company of colorado the new field is located between the north casper structure and the notches field and is known as big sul ul chur springs or wilson dome to be more exact it t is is 6 0 miles east of the notches field and 6 miles north of ahe the rail railway station at natrona location of the well is in sea sea sec 32 38 83 F W strong president and manager of the big six oil company left a few days ago for salt lake city where he will spend a couple of weeks on oil business says say tn th moab times the big six company which has extensive of 01 holdings in the local oil fields has received a number offers from development of atit its operating companies for the ground and these are being considered it is probable that anai the big six well three miles west of moab and now
