Show THE SALMON RIVER SECTION the miner of mackay idaho says the salmon river section of custer county is opening up on an era of prosperity which has not been known there for many years in fact not since the old producers there ceased work during the past month in the neighborhood of two hundred men have been given employment in the the montana the silver king the buckskin and the stanley dredge and in addition to the men employed by these companies there are a great number of men scattered on the smaller properties in that section among the old producers in the salmon river section of custer county which is one of the greatest mining districts in idaho idah 0 the the montana the silver king the buckskin and the stanley dredge and the vishnu group of claims are once again numbered among the big producers for central idaho the the company whose holdings are at badhorse bayhorse Bay Day horse is daily adding to its pay rolls and much ore is being sent to the smelters shelters sm elters near salt lake city preparations are being made for a much larger force of men and the company is at work installing a water power electric lighting system and a large capacity mill has been ordered and these additions to the present equipment will soon be in readiness for work under the capable management of superintendent joslin the work is progressing very fast and the production of this mine will soon be materially increased montana and silver king the montana and silver king in the stanley basin have been repairing the road from their property to stanley and are at present working in the neighborhood of twenty five miners four railroad cars of rich high grade silver lead ore will be in readiness for shipment by the first of october walter gray is the manager of these mines and is authority for the fact that the force of men would be greatly increased as soon as shipping facilities were increased A hydroelectric smelter will be installed there next summer to take care ot of the hundreds of tons of ore which will be taken out the ore which will be shipped the first of the month from these mines will average to the ton this being exceedingly high grade ore the buckskin mine the buckskin which is owned and controlled by mackay men and other custer county men is in stanley basis has quite a number of men at work and are making shipments regularly many improvements in the shipping facilities and in the equipment are being planned and will be executed I 1 there this summer the stanley dredge is at present not doing much shipping owing to the fact that their crew of men are busy putting the property in shape for a big year to be started off next spring with the installation of a new dredge of the latest type although these properties and many smaller ones which will now be opened in the upper country ceased operations for a number of years owing to the conditions of the metal markets and other unfavorable conditions the entire upper country is now lining up to prove by actual production that the faith felt by the mining men of this section was justified with the mines named above and several other smaller ones together with dozens of individual prospects the mineral wealth of central idaho will be greatly increased by the production of high priced ore from this section and custer county and central idaho is f facing acing one of the greatest years of mineral prosperity in its history |
