Show STRIKE IN THE MAY DAY what appears to be a very nice bunch of silver lead ore has just been e encountered on the level of the may day mine manager george H dern who has been here during a part of the week states that it is too early to say just what the strike amounts to but it has the appearance of being something quite good owing to the fact that it is in an entirely new locality the ore was cut early in the week and ordinarily a few days work would have been sufficient to get a very good line on the deposit but in this case the ore was found in loose ground which requires careful timbering and the drift has progressed only a short distance however the ore appears to be widening out materially the job of repairing the yankee js shaf shaft in order that work can be taken up in behalf of the may day company is going along rapidly and the shaft is now in good shape to a depth of feet A drift from the yankee workings will tap the may day at a depth of 1800 feet reporter eureka utah |
