Show S SLOW LOW ADVANCE AT JARBIDGE I 1 hot air people leaving and low grade properties being successfully worked special correspondence jarbidge harbidge Jar bidge nevada may 15 this camp is moving ahead slowly but surely and avei every T week is rosy with promise that one day this may become a mining camp development work is so slow that the advance is hardly perceptible and to the hot air miners the outlook is very discouraging as the big values do not materialize but to the mining man the evidence of big bodies of milling ore are more apparent and tonnage is really what makes a great camp there are mining men here with money looking for properties and these seem satisfied to take a chance but they are not going to pay fancy prices nor make big payments down therefore they are quietly waiting for prices to drop to something like a reasonable level the holders of claims are beginning to realize this and are now willing to sell on terms something commensurate with the value of undeveloped prospects As a consequence several dea deas s are under way the completion of which may add new life to the camp and aid in its development papers have changed hands on the featherstone group of claims on the west side of the river above the pavlak and negotiations are about closed for another group of claims in the same locality A payment was made recently on a group of claims southeast of the pick and shovel by which bond bowes and williams secure some valuable property and as they are mining men some actual development work may be looked for on this property in the near future mr pavlak recently went to twin falls to receive a payment and turn over the titles and full possession of the arizona group to the jarbidge harbidge pavlak mining company this company has been in practical possession for the past month and has been running a crosscut tunnel from the river in order to cut the vein at a distance of feet and at a vertical depth of feet this tunnel is now in more than eighty feet and stringers of talc and considerable sid erable iron pyrite in cross seams give evidence of the approach to a mineralized zone and the possibility of cutting another big vein before the workings reach the ledge showing such fine ore which crops n the surface the average bannings pann ings on the surface of the pavlak arizona vein are as good if not better than on any other property in the camp and the progress of this tunnel is being ing watched with a great deal of interest in the bourne tunnel a crosscut was run to the west until the foot wall was reached and drifting along the foot wall has been carried on for several feet now in better average values than have b been een found in any other portion of the workings at th the ePick pick and shovel a shaft has been sunk along the foot wall about thirty five feet and some good ore opened the camp of the company has been moved up to a spot near the mine in order to be handy to the work and the showing showing is most promising it is the intention to sink to a depth of about five feet and then crosscut c ut the ledge mr escalon is busy prospecting on the surface alon along g the line of the vein and expects to trace the values while the company I 1 I 1 is opening up the ore in the shaft the jarbidge harbidge Jar bidge consolidated M al company has established camp on its property on the ridge east of the bourne near the head of jack creek and is working g a force of eight men several pro properties pertle s on the upper part of the river several miles south of the bourne are being examined by mining men with backing and if the owners will come to reasonable terms something will be doing in that section soon the upper part of deer creek four miles southwest of jarbidge harbidge Jar bidge is attracting acting considerable attention as several very promising veins have been discovered there two small deals have been closed in the taylor pocket section W W FISK |
