| Show MONTANA butte copper age R A kerr superintendent of the butte montana mining coi company n returned to butte yesterday after an absence of several weeks in the east where he has been in the interest of his company mr kerr spent most of his time in duluth where the controlling interest of the butte montana is held it is understood that financial arrangements have been made and plans have been completed whereby opera eions are to be resumed at the mine immediately dia tely butte miner for several days workmen have been engaged in dismantling the surface equipment at the minne healy mine and the last of that famous property which has figured prominently in litigation and which for years was the subject of contention between the amalgamated copper company and F A heinze is disappearing so far as its individuality among the great producers of the butte hill is concerned extensive working of the minnie healy ore bodies will be from the tramway shaft below the 1400 foot level and from present indications the historic mine promises to become one of the most valuable assets of the red metal company great falls leader hon rufus B thompson and M L goodman well known local business men with J P barnes of helena have just returned from a trip to zortman where they spent some days looking over the property of the little exploration company in which they are all considerably interested this company recently suspended operations temporarily and it was to ascertain the real conditions of affairs that the trip was made in addition to a careful examination of the property samples were secured of the ore bodies in the alabama and these were highly satisfactory the local men believe that the adoption of a well considered policy in connection with careful management will make this proposition a large revenue producer |
