expressed his thanks to Professor J J S McClellan and those who had assisted him In the special organ recital given Saturday morning at the tabernacle Then turning to President Joseph F FSmith FSmith FSmith Smith of the Church of Jesus Christ of I Saints who with Mrs Mra Bathsheba Smith one of the oldest liv living livIng ing ng members of the church had been seated beside him during the recital visit to Salt Lake The program was made up of several choice selections Intended to show to good advantage the beauties of the great or organ organ organ gan In the tabernacle and as the var varius the tabernacle For an hour before the time set et for the start of the program a 8 considerable crowd had begun to collect at the south entrance to the temple grounds where It was supposed the party would first make Its Us appearance The arrangements made by the police poUce and committee pro provided vied vided for the entrance of ot the automo automobile automobile bile bUE bearing the party by way of the north entrance to the grounds A crowd of a hundred or more who learned of these arrangements was assembled at atthe tho the entrance for some time before the arrival of the party and waited followed by that of the President Governor William Spry Captain Archibald W Butt and James I Sloan Jr special agent The two ma machines chines passed quickly through the gates Into to the grounds and
