Show PRESIDENT RESIDENT ENTERTAINED IN AN INFORMAL MANNER At the Alta AIm club last evening President President dent William H Taft spent a delight delightful ful two hours The entertainment planned for the President was not an elaborate one It was probably more of an informal reception than any vv which the President has attended during his hi stay in Salt Lake The President was delighted with the reception and in a short speech after aeter dinner commended in most favorable terms of o the progressive spirit shown by bythe bythe bythe the people of Salt Lake He said Mid that his entertainment was delightful and that during his visit he had been im impressed impressed pressed presed with the progressive lve spirit of I Americanism shown by the people of ot i Salt Fait alt Lake His speech followed that of ot I Governor William Spry and was large largely lar e eI I ly I a discussion dl of the governors governor talk Governor Spry had told of o the great things that the stae was striving for tor forand torand forand and said that they were certain of achievement In this sentiment the President joined Governor Spry and i expressed the wish and more than that the prophesy that all of o the things hoped for would come to pass The President arrived at the Alta club from the University club at about last evening Shortly afterward an elaborate banquet was served At Atthe
