Show PARK AK CLOSED TO 10 PUBLIC Pioneer Square From Prom Some Un Tin Unknown Unknown known Reason Is Kept Closely Fenced Pioneer park although the oldest park in Salt Lake for some unknown reason is almost inaccessible to the public because the city administration in Its as ts superior wisdom has seen fit to maintain a wire Ire fence at each of the corner entrances The park is located between Third and Fourth South streets between Second and Third West Vest streets and is admirably adapted for a childrens children playground During the summer a man is kept there to cut the grass but that is the only atten attention attention attention tion the park ever receives Many of the citizens In the neighbor neighborhood neighborhood neighborhood hood are disgusted with the policy of the authorities in keeping leeping the entrance closed and there has never been any reason mason given why they ther should be The claim is i made that this Is done to pre prevent prevent prevent vent teams from driving through using the park roadway as a short cut and thus spoiling it and that entrance may maybe maybe maybe be gained through holes in the hedge which surrounds the block The people say that It Is all alt right to keep the teams out but that an entrance at the corners corpora could be made which would prevent teams from driving through and at the same time allow the Ute chil children children children dren and others desirous of using the park paik ti tO find easy access to it |
