Show A cuiiious circumstanco is said to have occurred in a silk factory of M. Garibaldi, at Cremona. It is positively posi-tively stated that in that factory a quautn ol tilk worms, instead of forming the,, on ton, as usual, actually wove a kind .of silk ribbon of ;the breadth uf ttn inches, and the length of upwards ! twelve feet. Iu t'he course of tuc inquiries made on the matter, it has.1, been ehcited that a similar phenomenon, only on a large, scale, took .place' in Alexandria in' 1873, in fiesilk factory of Dr. G.lo. where the silk worms wove a ribbon two inches hroad, and upwards ol sixty feet iu length, part of which ie-n ie-n ;w trjscrvvd in the museum cf natural biitory at Turin. |
