Show A Deranged Woman Chops Off . Her Hand. The Ofeden Junction of last evening says : Yesterday morning Dr. P. L. Anderson An-derson was summoned in haste to Morgan cily. On his arrival by train,, accompanied by Dr. E. G. Williams, he fouud a singular and terrible case. 1 An old lady 70 year of age, wile of Mr. Alexander Robinson of North Morgan, bad been (or some time in a deranged state of mind, ar.d that morning had frightfully mutilated her left arm. In conversing with Dr. Anderson she said she got out of bed at 4 o'clock that morning, being impressed to go to one of her nieces and tear her eyea out. On tho way something told her she had better injure herself than another person, so she returned, and, finding an old, dull axe near the house, she put her arm on a block of wood, giving herself "six licks" and chapping off her hand juat abovo the wrist I She picked up her hand and carried it to tho houso, laying it on the door step. She then went into the house and woke her .husband, telling him what ehe had done and that he had better get up and put her to b- d. Btood was scattered all about the premises, presenting a fearful and sickening Bight. Dr. Anderson had great difficulty in getting Mrs. Robin son under the influence of chlorolorm, as she understood what was intended and (ought against it desperately. Tho doctor, however, succeeded in administering the chloroform, and amputated the wounded limb about fojr inches below the elbow. |
