Show Dr. York's Lecture To-night. The Eureka Sentinel has the following follow-ing to say concerning Dr. York, the radical orator who epeaks at tbe Institute this evening: Bigelow's hall, both Sunday and last evening, was crowded by a deeply interested throng, gathered to hear Or. York's eloquent handling of tbe subjects announced in a former issue ol tbe Sentinel. Tbe gentleman is a very deep thinker and logical orator, following hia various deductions to conclusions that eeem impregnable, tiis arguments all tend to one point, a refutation of existing religious creeds and dogmas, and an attempt to overthrow prevailing beliefs. That he is a very dangerous enemy of churches and orthodox doctrines no one who baa listened to his lectures will deny, and as he brings taleut and plausible speech to bear on the Bubject, his hearers confess the convincing con-vincing force of his discourse. He will deliver the fourth of his aeries of lectures at the s-vme place this evening, even-ing, choosing for a topio, "dcieuce aud Religion." Tbe announcement is sufficient to fill the hall. |
