Show Seventy-Nine. The veteran paper carrier and "good old gentleman, one of ye olden timo," Mr. Robert Carter, is Bsventy-nine years old to-day. His birthdays are as regular aud faithful j as an old Dutch clock. Rain or j shine, sick or well, in good seasons and in bad, Uncle Robert never fails , to have a birthday once every twelve months, and it always occurs at about this time of tho year. Ho has for a number of yenrs trotted around this town, in all kiudd f weather, supplying sup-plying his custom ars with tho literature litera-ture of tho day, and wherever ha has gone be has carried witn him good humor, oieasaut chat and a spright-liucas spright-liucas that many younger men of the day would do well to emulate, and has received '.he liberal patronage and good wishes of all ho has done business busi-ness with. But of late he reminds ua that we shall not always be young. |
