Show Sandy School District. 1 Sandy, June 7th, '77 Editors Herald: Pursuant to a call made on the 27th I Of May by the Bchool trustees of this district, a meoviug of the tax payers was held in the public school housf ' of this town on tne evening of Wed- j nesdfty, June 6th, for the purpose of ! levying an annual lax to p:iy of the J muiiuieuuesB 01 me past year, inaiEiug some improvements and securing the services of a competent teacher for the coming year. The meeting was called to order by E. Holman, chairman chair-man of the board; Ym. Rumel, clerk. Members of the board of trustees present: E. Holman and Charles Decker. Member of the board absent: Geo. Goas. A financial statement and record of the boird of trustees for the fiscal year eudieg May 3lst was submitted and approved. I after building a achoolhouse amd pay-ins pay-ins toacher for nine months w.ia $197.27 in debt from the past vear, and that it was nocessary to make nome further improvements for the comfort of the scholars, as well as securing the services of a compaiont teacher for the ensuing year, the sum of $1,000 was deemed by the directors necessary to carry out the same. It was therefore moved and seconded that a tax of throe quarters of 1 per cent, be levied on all the taxable property within the dittrict. Carried unanin;outly. j Mfvcd and seconded that William Rumel be authorized to act as anseBsnr and collector of the district. Carried. Moved and seconded that J. H. MiGralh a:t as treasurer of the district, dis-trict, he giving the neceisary bonds required by law. Thus you will see that Sandy is not behind in making an effort towards establishing a permanent public school in this district. We have had already an average of forty scholars who bavo been instructed here on the free school system without distinction of creed, color or nationality, and I when the necessary improvements are made, which are now in contemplation, contemp-lation, Sandy will have reasons to proud of her public school.
