Anthony reported re-ported back too letter of the secretary of the treasury in reply to the resolution resolu-tion submitted by Davis in February last, transmitting a lengthy report showing the amount of balances due the government from public officer?, etc., etc., since 1S3G. Ab much of it was unimportant, Anthony recommended recom-mended ttiat the report lie on the table without being printed and a condensed-report be printed instead, which was agreed to. Ingalls called up the joint resolution resolu-tion authorizing the secretary of war to issue arms. He said there was great danger of an Indian war and it was important that arms bo issued without delay to the settlere. Referred Re-ferred to tho committee on military affairs. Morrill, from the conference committee com-mittee on the legislative and judicial appropriation bill, reported that the committee had been unable to agree. He moved that the Benato insist upon its amendments to the bill and agree to the new conference asked for by the bouse.
