Show 'the Objections to Florida's Vole. Washington, 1. Representative Field's written objections to the electoral elec-toral vote ef Florida assert that Pearce, Humphreys, HolJin and Young, who assume to be presidential electors were never duly appointed by the state of Florida or otherwise, while four other, persons had beeu elected and had an irrevocable title to the office. The -first four peraons obtained a certificate of. election untruly un-truly and corruptly under a 'conspiracy 'conspir-acy between ihem and Gjv. Stearns. They were usurpers- and 'their acts illegal, nun and void. Further objections ob-jections being called for, Senator Sargent sent up a paper signed by himself, Senators Conover, Sherman, and Taller, and Representatives Woodburu, Dunnell, Kasson and McCrary, 'containing three several sets of objections to the votes cast by the democratic electors Call, Linton, Bullock aud Yonger, cn the ground that the papers are not authenticated as required by tho; constitution and laws. : i : . : - ! Senator Jonea of Florida objected specially to Humphreys as holding an erBco ol trust and profit under the United States. Kasson made an additional objection objec-tion to the third set of certificates, because they were not authenticated by tbe person who held the office of governor at tha time the functions of ihe electors were exercised. |
