F. 14, "To amend the charter ot Logan city," was taken up and read ' lie secend time by sections and amended, and passed its second read- IDg. On motion of Councilor Smnot. hv consent of the council, the bill was read the tbird time by its title, tbe ntie read, and the bill so passed, and was sent to the house for their action. Councilor Smoot presented 0. F. 21, "a bill for an act amending sac lion 180 of the civil practice act," wbich was read and referred to the committee on judiciary, with instructions instruc-tions to print buy copies. Tbe second reading of C. F. 11, tbe oriminal procedure act, was then resumed, re-sumed, pending which, council took recess till 2 p.m. 2 o'clock p.m. The following communication was received from tbe house, announcing that tuat body had passed tbe act providing pro-viding for the health and safety of persuns employed in coal mines, with amendments, and submitting tbe amendments for the concurrence of the council.
