Show Utali Western Railway. Yesterday afternoon, at the invitation invita-tion of the officers of tho road, a party of ladies and gentlemen passed over the Utah Western railway to Lako ' Point, tho terminus, twenty miles from the city. The commissioners commis-sioners to examine the road were also on the special train. At Lake Point the party went on board the eteamer City of Corinne, visited Dr. Clinton's mammoth hotel buildingon tho shores of the lake, and after spending about an hour in viewing the future pleasure plea-sure resort for Salt Lakers, returned to the city delighted with the ride j and little "out." The first twenty miles of the Utah Western have been built, and trains are running regularly in Tooele county. The venture of the builders has already proved a success, surpassing sur-passing even the expectations of the most sanguine theorist before the line was in operation. The freight business, from thestart,has amoanted to something immense and the number of passengers is daily increasing. |
