.Ilitrdi liru. Memphis, 9. Tho celebration of Maidi Gras to-day, was the mott successful and magnificent ever witnessed wit-nessed here. It is estimated that not less than 50,000 people witnessed the pageant, which in all its appoint' inents was of unusual splendor. The city was given over to gavety. The procession of the Mempni'at night excelled in beauty and interest anything any-thing ever before attempted here, and the streets wero thronged with spectators. The weather was beautiful beauti-ful all day, though rather too cool lor comfort. Madisoa, Ind., 9. Mardi Gras was celebrated here to-day by a splendid street pageant. Tne torn wa full of strangers. Little Rock, 9. Mardi Gras was 1 celebrated here to-day for the first1 time. The display was fine. !
