Elder Edward Stevensoo, recently appointed to an eastern mission, leaves this morning, his destination beine the state of Tennessee. President Orton and Superintendent Superintend-ent Stager of the Western Union telegraph tele-graph passed through Ogden yeBter-day, yeBter-day, on their way east, accompanied by their families. Gen. Smith and Col. Slauton leave for Fort Hall, Idaho, this morning, the former to inquire into the antici paled trouble wiln the Bannocks, and the latter to pay oQ the soldiers. Lieutenant C. F. Lloyd, 14th infantry, in-fantry, who has been in tbe Indian country for over a year, arrived in the city Saturday evening, accompanied accom-panied by bis family. Tbe lieutenant is now on leave, but will rejoin bis company, in Beaver, after tho holi diijB. |
