Show I'L'Iil.ISIlED 11V AOTHOIUTV. AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO VEdlCLES. Sec. 1. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, that then' shall be levied and collected a license upon all public vehicles using the Hircfttj of ti-ilt Lake City, for trade or trailic, as hereinalter provided. Sec. 2. Applications for license under un-der this Ordinance shall be made in writine to the Mnyor, and theamount hereinafter provided shall be paid in advance to the City .Treasurer. . All licenses shall be issued and signed by tho Mf yor and attested hy the City Recorder, under the seal of the City. The Recorder shall keep an alphabetical alpha-betical list ot licenses i&med, sutiug the number, name, residence, amount paid, with such remarks as may be deemed necessnry. S c. 3." On application being made, yearly licenses may be istued thereon, as follows: First. Upon a license to run an omnibuH $2-3.00 Second. Upon a license to run a carriage, hack or other vehicle, drawn by two or more horses $20.00 Third. Upon a bug;y, cab, or other vehicle, drawn by one horse $1.1.00 Fourth. Upon a drty, truck, drawn by two or more horses. ..$12.00 Fifth. Upon a dray, truck, wagon, or other such vehicle, drawn by one horse 0.00 Sec. 4. All public vehicles, Ucenscd under this ordinance, shall be numbered num-bered with plain fiuma painted on metallic plates, not less than three inches long and two inches wiue, which shall always be kept conspicuously conspicu-ously to view; said number shall be furnished with the license by the city recorder. Sec. 5. The centre of Second South street, between East and Went Temple streets, and between "jKast Temple and First East streets, is hereby set apart and established as a stand (or all licensed carriages, haclia, cab', or -other such vehicles used tor conveying passengers. The horses on both aides shall face East Temple street, with their heads not less than ten feet back from the street crossings. Sec. 6. The east side of First East street, between Firdt and Sicond South streets, and the east Bide of West Temple street, opposite the market grounds, are hereby apart and established as stands for tieensed drays, trucks, wagoua, and all .other such vehicles. Sec. 7. It shall not bo lawful for any licensed vehicle, when not actually actu-ally employed, to be kept standing in any otherpiirt o( the public highways of the city, than thode designated and set apart as Btands for public vehicleB. Not in front of any hotel, phiee of public business or private residence without the express permission of the owners or occupants thereof. Sec. S It shall not be lawful for any carriage, hack, c.ib, wagon, dray, truck, or other vehicle to be driven through any of .the streets of Salt Lake citv, at a greater speed than eight miles an hour, nor around the corners of any of the streets of sakt city, at a gait that will endangi r pedestrians. And all vehicles, when passing through or a-loug any of tho streets of said city, nbail, when meeting meet-ing another vehicle, be driven to the rignt hand side of the way ao as to pass clear of each other. Sec. 9. Any person violating any ot the provisions of thifi ordinance, shall, on conviction thereotf, be liable to a tine in any sum not exceeding 350 for each olfence. Sec. 10.
