Refuse them, or risk losing money: A new counterfeit five dollar note on the First National bank of Hanover, Han-over, Pa., has made its appearance. Tbe paper is very thin and the color dark. Date, February 20, 1S04, and bearing signatures of F. E Spinner and L. E. Chittenden. 1 About September 20, 1S77, a wtll-executed wtll-executed couuterieit five dollar note on tbe First National bank of Tma-qua, Tma-qua, Pa., made its appearance. Upon the fjee of thiB note, the letter "S" in the word "Dollars" has a blurred look, a: though done in printing. On the bac!;, tiieword "owing" is spelled "ownig," and the word "thousand" ii spelled "tbou-atid." The counterfeit five dollar note on the First Nuiona! bank of Hanover, Pa., is prinUd from the same counterfeit coun-terfeit plate s tbe "Tumaqua," and bears tbe same characteristics, with ' the exception that the word "owinc" has been correctoi, but two dots can . be discerned over the word. |
